100 Gallon Rubbermaid tank w/ $30 worth of silk plants and some rocks which are hung by coat hangers around the rear edge.

100 Gallon Rubbermaid tank w/ netting over the top.

Heater, air pump are in. Fishing weights with wire hooks help maintain netting to be tight in order to keep the Koi inside... Koi usually jump in new environments. This slowly becomes less of a risk after a week or so.

Kiddy swimming pools work fine in a pinch. Nothing says it has to be perfect. When the fish is sick, you need to setup and get treating right away. Since stress can and does kill Koi, take the time to set up the QT tank.

Verify:

Temp, chemicals, get some air going.

DON'T worry about the filtering of water if your in a hurry. Getting the chemicals right is more important. Water changes can assist in keeping ammonia down. Don't be feeding the ill fish unless the food is medicated.

Something as simple as not getting the temperature close is an additional stress that the fish does not need to deal with. An 8 degree difference can kill the already suffering fish.
